Bonsoir du Québec!

We had quite a day! The bus trip seemed to go by very quickly. The very capable Dan (our “chauffeur sans peur”) is a great driver and we made excellent time. The kids were thrilled to see every sign magically change to French as soon as we crossed the border. We met our fabulous tour guide, Mathieu, who let us on a brief tour of the old city, ending at the Château Frontenac. Then we met Jean, our guide for the walking tour of old Quebec. He was hilarious and spoke only in French, so we designated translators among the students to fill in gaps for the others. It was cold, but beautiful!

Then, we had a little down time at the hotel to warm up and collect ourselves, before heading to a restaurant for a fun family-style dinner. Then we saw a side-splitting comedy improv show in which we were treated to the comic stylings of not only the troupe, but our own students, who participated enthusiastically and with high hilarity.

We are looking forward to tomorrow, our first full day in Québec!
